Guitarist and lutenist Julian Bream, who died at the age of 87 in 2020, seemed like a permanent part of the classical music world. It is very hard to imagine that he has passed away.

Yet thanks to the remarkable recordings he made, we can take comfort and maintain our connection with this great artist. One such recording, of Bream playing Bach, has just been released and is now available for members to enjoy on Classical Archives.

And what a recording it is, with Bach preludes, partitas, suites, and fugues. I have to admit that I have a special connection to this artist, since I started listening to him back in the 1950s on vinyl. And now I invite you to discover and enjoy it too, here on Classical Archives.
